Timeline

The following dates are valid for the 2016 competition edition.

Registration and submission period | February 8 – May 13, 2016

Binding competition entries are registered by submitting digital product images and description texts in English or German. Submissions are free of charge.

Formal evaluation and admission | May 2016

At the close of the application deadline, all submissions are comprehensively assessed for the purposes of verifying the fulfillment of participation requirements.

Nominations | Early June 2016

Among all complete submissions the award Jury nominates a limited amount of product solutions for the competition. Participation fees become due upon acceptance of a nomination. Fees cover the realisation costs of the competition and special exhibition. All nominated product solutions are presented to trade visitors, the press and the public at IFA.

Exhibition planning, product delivery | Juli – August 2016

Exhibition planning, collection of texts and images of all nominated products, delivery of orignial products for the special exhibition at IFA. The online exhibition is published shortly before the fair starts.

Adjudication, IFA Special Exhibition, Award Ceremony | September 2 – 7, 2016

Among all exhibited original products the jury awards a limited number of Winner Awards and one premium winner – the ‚UX Design Award Gold‘. Award winners are announced in a festive Award Ceremony during the fair.

Audience award | September – October 2016

Furthermore, all nominated products participate in an online poll for the Audience Award, bestowed by the general public. Voting is connected to social media applications, offering companies the opportunity to further promote their nominated products to the public. The Public Choice Award is assigned at the beginning of November.
